What is so good about Good Friday?

Our Good Friday service is a simple service with prayers, songs, and readings that invite us to remember the crucifixion of Jesus and to ponder the meaning of his death.

We gather around the cross where Jesus willingly laid down his life for us. Imagine that.  He took our sins, our brokenness, our woundedness, our pain and suffering upon himself. There is no greater love.

The atmosphere is more solemn than usual, as you would expect with something so momentous, but our hearts are filled with hope.  There is healing in his wounds.

The symbol of all this is the communion meal where we gather around the table to remember, to give thanks, and to participate in his death.

All are welcome at the table of God.
