Christmas is a beautiful time of year. The lights, the smells, the music, they all bring cheer to our heart. But the truth is, for many of us Christmas is also a little bittersweet. Maybe this was a particularly difficult year for you or someone you love. Maybe you are away from family this season, or they are away from you. Perhaps you just don’t feel that cheerful.

The Blue Christmas service at Fairview exists because Christmas isn’t always merry. This special time of worship is a simple, calming, candlelight service of reflection which allows us to wrestle with our difficulties and to proclaim hope for tomorrow.
