Vision

Our Vision is:

To grow as disciples of Jesus Christ

So that in our daily lives

We reflect his light

And share his love

Our 20/20 vision for Fairview is based on two Biblical themes that we have discerned are the priority as we embark on the next chapter of Fairview’s life and ministry.

#1 Discipleship

  1. We believe we were created in the Image of God (Gen 1:26-27).
  2. Created out of a relationship, for relationship, we have fallen from this imageness.
  3. God’s Word reveals to us that He has set about His plan to redeem His creation, to restore us to our createdness.
  4. God has revealed himself to us, in the form of His only Son, our Lord Jesus, and His life is a living example of living in accordance to the image of God.
  5. Jesus calls people to himself to follow Him as His disciples (Matthew 4:18-22) – to listen to His Word, to learn from His Word, and to obey His Word, and by doing so we will become more like our Teacher, we will be transformed into our createdness. (2 Cor 3:18)

#2 A Living Fruitful Faith

  1. We are not called by God merely for our own sakes
  2. We are called for the sake of the world. (Gen 12:1-3)
  3. We are sent in to the world to make other disciples, to share the Gospel, to witness to the life and ministry of Jesus in our lives. (Matthew 28:16-20; Acts 1:8)
  4. We are to be in the world but not of the world. (John 17:16-19; Matthew 5:13-16)
  5. As disciples of Jesus we are to live lives that reflect the glory of God being formed in us. (Gal 5:22-23; 1 Cor 13; 2 Cor 4:4-6)

In order to intentionally seek to live according to our 20/20 vision we

  1. Gather regularly to worship God to remind us He is Lord of our lives.
  2. Pray to remind us of our dependence on God who sustains us.
  3. Care for each other to remind us that followers of Jesus serve rather than seeking to be served.
  4. Nurture growth in Christ through fellowship and Bible study
  5. Share God’s love which we believe is “good news” for all people of all nations.
