Olympic Games Impacts
Parking and Transportation during February
During February although parking restrictions will reduce the availability of parking around the church it will still be possible to get here and to park. Make your plans now.
Use an alternative
Walk - if you live in the vicinity of the church plan to walk, leaving your car at home.
Bike - find your rain gear and lock and join Vancouver's thousands of cyclists. Fairview is close to bikeways on 10th Ave and on Cypress.
Transit - buses on Broadway and on Granville are frequent, even on Sundays. During the Games some routes will be more frequent (especially 99 B-Line on Broadway). Expect them also to be busy.
If you're driving
Save spaces for those who need them most - help us to keep the church's limited parking available for those who can't walk the distance and for visitors.
Plan to park a little farther away - Parking restrictions will apply both directions on 12th Ave and southbound on Fir St so plan to park somewhere else. Some street parking is available northbound on Fir, on the adjacent blocks of 10th and 11th Avenues. Parking is abundant on 13th, 14th and 15th Ave west of Fir as well as on Pine. Pay close attention to restrictions such as for resident parking. Pay parking is also available at Chapters on 10th Ave at Granville.
Fill your car - Offer a ride to someone so they don't have to drive. And if they have trouble walking, use the church parking lot for drop-off and pickup.
Leave extra time - Traffic and parking may take longer than normal. Leave some extra time and Know Before You Go.
